Description

This is an unusual Mauchline ware wood money box in the form of a little casket with bands of tartan decoration on each side. The slot is on the front of the box and there is a little swivel catch on the base of the box so you can get at the contents. An old intriguing money box.

Period

Early 1900's. There is three purple stamp marks on the base not sure if this is a makers mark or not but cannot make out what they say.

Condition

Tarton a little marked at edges and central picture worn. There are various stamps and marks on the base.
